On September 5, 2015 we welcomed our son, Andrew Harper into this world and learned just how scary premature birth can be. Harper was born at 29 weeks and was 2 pounds 15 ounces. A normal pregnancy up until it wasn't didn't leave us with any time to prepare ourselves for the journey we were about to take with our amazing super hero of a son. Harper spent 60 days in the NICU which meant 60 nights sleeping in a hospital without his Mom and Dad, 60+ times we had to leave the hospital without our son, and 60 days surrounded by beeps and alarms and attached to tubes and wires. Happily Harper is now a healthy, happy, hilarious 9 year old - but not all babies and families are so lucky. Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 450,000 babies here in the United States. I’m walking in March for Babies to get the message out about this terrible problem and you can help. Please make a secure donation to help me reach my goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
