I support the March of Dimes and actively participate in the March for Babies because they are instrumental in ensuring that every mom and baby receives the best possible start in life, just as was the case for my mom and I over (cough, cough) 55 years ago.
My mother had Sickle Cell Anemia and was in her late thirties when she became pregnant with me. She and my father were advised that continuing the pregnancy carried significant risks. Despite these concerns, she chose to proceed, placing her trust in the medical guidance available at the time. Thanks to the exceptional prenatal care that she received, I was born healthy and strong, and my mother didn't experience any complications. Reflecting on this, I realize that without such comprehensive medical support, my mother's story and mine might have been very different.
Until the same story can be told for all moms and babies, I am committed to raising funds and awareness. I need your help.
