💜✨ Join Pippa's Promise: Celebrating 2 Years of Love! ✨💜

This year, my family and I are forming a team called "Pippa's Promise" in memory of my beloved daughter, Pippa, who was stillborn at 26 weeks in 2023 due to a cord accident. Pippa had Down syndrome, and although her time with us was tragically brief, she filled our hearts with love and hope.  Her second birthday is on March 13,  and I want to ensure that she is never forgotten. Her spirit continues to inspire us, and we carry her memory with us every day.  

As a neonatologist at Baycare, I witness the incredible resilience of the tiniest and most vulnerable babies daily. I joined a March of Dimes walk 10 years ago and have always admired their mission.   March of Dimes focuses on improving maternal and infant care but also raises awareness about the profound grief of infant loss and miscarriage, particularly the heartbreak of stillbirth.  Each year about 24,000 babies are stillborn in the United States.   My personal experience with Pippa has deepened my commitment to this cause, as I now understand the urgent need for awareness, support, and advocacy for families who face similar tragedies.

Through this fundraising effort, I aim to create better awareness and support systems for women who have experienced similar losses. No one should feel alone in their grief, and together we can foster a community of understanding and hope. Your support will help March of Dimes continue their vital work, and together, we can strive to prevent such tragedies from affecting other families.  And if you can't donate, please come and walk with us on May 3rd at Steinbrenner Field.
