Koa Hardy Simmons was born on April 9, 2023 (Easter Sunday) - he was premature due to a build up of ammoniac fluid from a placenta chorioanigma. He came at 25 weeks gestation and spent 315 days in the NICU/PICU on Kaiser Sunset Los Angeles CA. When he came home he was placed on a ventilator via tracheostomy because at birth he was diagnosed with BPD (Chronic Lung Disease). He came home Feb 19 and spent almost a full two months at home with his mother, Haylee. On March 29, 2024 he turned unconscious for roughly 45 minutes which led him to be hospitalized again at the Children’s Hospital for about two weeks. Due to lack of oxygen there wasn’t much brain activity left soluble therefore he was placed to rest on April 12, 2024 at 4:45 pm.
I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help.
Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
