Today in the U.S., 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. The funds we raise for March For Babies support research that saves babies' lives. I am living proof and thousands of other children are living today! Remember I was born on February 1, 2004 at 26 and 5/7 weeks only weighing one pound nine ounces and twelve and 3/4 inches long. I weighed less than a can of soup and spent my first two months in two different hospitals. At Magee Woman's Hospital NICU for 37 days and then three weeks at TIC (The Children's Home) in Shadyside before coming home. I turn 21 on February 1st this year. Hearing my parents tell their story of how my journey in the NICU began, I am blessed 21 years later to share my story with so many of you. I came into this world on Superbowl Sunday it was Superbowl 38, Patriots and Panthers played, Patriots won. Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were the halftime show, remember that?! I don’t! I am in my Junior year at Indiana Wesleyan University (located in Marion, Indiana). I played soccer soccer this past fall and my team had an amazing season going to the NAIA playoffs and sweet 16 National Championship in Florida, finishing with a record of 14-5-2! I am doing a double major in both nursing and Spanish! I am asking for your support to help my family make this year the best yet with your generous donation and join us for the walk! I thank you in advance for your past support and remember all donations add up and make a difference. I ask that you consider a $21 donation in honor of me turning 21. If you tell 10 of your friends and family and they donate $21, that is a $210 donation b/c of you and the ripple continues. Remember your employer may also match your donation so please check this website to see if that is possible. Every dime counts and we have the March of Dimes to thank and I am loving proof of! Thank you during these challenging times, we are very blessed for your support year after year. Stay safe, stay well and be kind. Blessings to you and your family in 2025! Hope to see you at the walk on 4/27 at PNC Park!
