One of the scariest times in my life was when I was riding in the car on the way to the ER, with a heart rate in the 40s and a blood pressure of 178/110. I had given birth four days prior, and had only been home from the hospital for two days before my husband, our newborn daughter, and I were headed back. I will always be grateful for the phenomenal prenatal education and care I received that kept me attentive to my body. When we finally made it to the hospital, I was admitted for postpartum preeclampsia. After a few more days in the hospital, I was able to go, and stay, home. My story has a happy ending, but there are far too many women, babies, and families for whom the outcome is far worse.
I'm joining this movement with gratitude for the medical advancements that enabled me to have a healthy baby and make a full recovery from the complications I had, but also in recognition of my family members and close friends who have battled infertility, miscarriage, and pregnancy complications. Please join me in support of the health of all mothers and babies!
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
