On June 3, 2010, my husband and I became parents for the first time to our twin daughters, Carlie Rose and Cailin Marie. At only a pound each, they were the tiniest, yet most beautiful babies we had ever laid our eyes on. But while most parents are filled with joy after seeing their babies for the first time, we were filled with numbness and pain knowing this would likely be the first and last time seeing our daughters who were born too early and too sick. But against all odds, we were given some time with both our girls. Carlie fought long enough that she was able to meet her grandparents, aunts and uncles while in the NICU. Though our hearts broke when she passed later on that night before we had the chance to hold her, we were still grateful for that little time we had together. We were even more grateful that Cailin stayed with us a day and half more. Like her sister, she was a fighter, but we knew the time was coming to say our goodbyes. We had to make the difficult decision to remove her from life support, but It was then we were able to hold our daughter for the first time. Not too long after, she passed peacefully while in mine and my husband's arms. While it pains us that our family will never be complete without Carlie and Cailin, we find comfort in keeping their memory alive with this foundation. So Please consider walking with us or donating in their name! In doing so, you are helping keep the memory of two special angels while helping babies everywhere (and their mommies) stay healthy! Thanks in advance for your support! Love, Lindsey, Dave and our rainbows Aubrey, David & James
