On 3/7/17 my son Steven, and his wife, Jenna, welcomed their first baby into the world. Domenico James was born at 28 1/2 weeks but was healthy (2 lbs, 13 oz) and did great for the first twelve days. At 12 days old, he contracted a bowel infection called Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC). After a tough two day battle we lost our sweet baby Dom, and he gained his angel wings. We're so proud of the way he fought and we're so grateful for the two weeks we had with him. Our rainbow grandchild, Emma Sofia, arrived on 6/13/18 after a full term pregnancy. She is full of energy with a very outgoing personality. The little sister was to become a big sister in December 2019, but Jenna's water broke at 24 1/2 weeks. She did not go into labor and we were preparing for a several weeks stay at Lankenau. However, at 25 weeks, on 9/17/19, Mia Isabella arrived (1lb 6 oz). Mia gained her angel wings when she was two days old. We were blessed with another rainbow grandchild, Vincenzo Joseph on 6/28/21 .
We love our little angels so much and know they will always be with us. Thank you to everyone for all the thoughts, prayers and support . We support the March of Dimes so that another family does not have to experience our grief.
Please make a secure donation to help me reach my goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
