In the U.S., the richest nation on earth, moms are dying at the highest rate in the developed world. This crisis is most severe for Black moms in the U.S., who are dying at three to four times the rate of their white counterparts.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
