We joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. Our perfect twins were born at 33 weeks + 6 days due to twin B experiencing PPROM (previable premature rupture of membranes) at 19 weeks. Our miracles stayed put until a scheduled delivery date, but not without the medical interventions we needed to help them, and to keep mom healthy throughout the process. Kendyll, AKA mom, went through a combined 12 week hospital stay full of antibiotics, steroids, IVs, blood draws, ultrasounds, and scares. Twin A had a 12 day stay in the NICU with CPAP, blood draws, and a feeding tube, and twin B had a 51 day stay in the NICU intubated with various ventilators, eventually weaning to a nasal cannula, a PICC line, chest tubes, 1 blood transfusion, and a feeding tube.
With the help of the amazing NICU doctors, nurses, therapists and specialists our boys are able to be home with us today.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start.
Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
