Hello Friends!!

I will be participating in the Montgomery County March for Babies Walk event on May 3rd.  For almost 10 years I have participated in this walk.  I have been a top fundraiser for my team for several years and honored to be a part of the opening festivities by carrying one of the ceremonial flags prior to the start of the walk.  I'm asking for your support AGAIN this year so please don't stop reading to find our more about MY personal WHY. 

If you are receiving this, you likely know that I gave birth to our twin boys, Landon and Courtland, in 2010, who by God's grace were born healthy although prematurely.  Landon was only 4 lbs 13 oz and while Courtland was 6lbs, he experienced challenges with his lungs and was in NICU right after birth. What you may not know is that I was placed on bedrest at only 22 weeks with our first child, Bailey, who was born in 2008 at 38 weeks. That was a long 16 weeks of bedrest due to a high risk of miscarriage (yikes).

While my family didn't need the direct support of the March of Dimes, I know the risks of premature births that lead to extended hospital stays and my personal journey of risk didn't start there. 

While I had resources to gain access to all the necessary education and medical care, there are families who do not, so I participate in this effort to help all moms and families experience the joy of a healthy baby. The funds we raise enable March of Dimes to support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy that truly makes a difference to families in our community and across the country. There is even a mobile unit that now goes out into the community because of the funds we raise.
