Why I march

As I became more and more involved with March of Dimes I actually began to realize how many amazing preemies I know/knew including my husband. This journey of support started with my beautiful Niece born in 2016. It was such a scary moment as my sister complained of headaches and swelling not realizing her pre-eclampsia was basically toxemia causing her to go into early labor as well as have a grand mal seizure. At that time, we weren't sure if either of them would make it. However, both are with us today and thriving thanks to the hospital staff and NICU who cared for my niece for several weeks as she grew big and strong enough to go home. I hadn't really seen a baby so small in person and connected to all those cords, I was at first afraid to touch her thinking she's so small and fragile. I can laugh at that now as she's so tough! She couldn't have been so lucky without the help of organizations like March of Dimes who support NICUs throughout the USA and abroad. Although not every baby is as fortunate to survive as she was; every baby deserves a fighting chance!

When it comes to giving families the best possible start, we all have the power to help.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.

March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.

Thank you for your support!
