I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk for experiencing reproductive health challenges and preterm birth. I am leading the Mocha Moms Los Angeles team as we stand with March of Dimes to fight for the health of all moms and babies. Black women die or nearly die from complications from pregnancy or childbirth at enormously high rates. Black babies are at 50% higher risk for preterm birth. We know that preterm birth places our children at higher risk for a range of health issues and developmental disabilities. My daughter was born at 27 weeks, and 5 days and stayed in the NICU for 62 days. I am grateful for the care and support of her excellent team of neonatal specialists who ensured that she had the support she needed to survive.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help. Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. The March of Dimes is at the forefront of moms and babies having a healthy start. Together we’ll be part of a movement to ensure that all moms and babies - including Black moms and babies- have equitable access to health in their start to life.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
