Why I walk

We would like to share the life journey of our son William Kai-Hong Dodson. He was born on January 26, 2014 two months pre-term. He was diagnosed with a rare genetic defect named Trisomy 18 when Winnie was 12 weeks pregnant. Doctors expected multiple birth defects and a short life expectancy. For 37 amazing days, we were blessed to walk this journey with him and share him with friends and family. From the moment he was conceived, to his diagnosis at 12 weeks, to his birth at 32 weeks, to his passing at 37 weeks, William was a loved part of our family. We were honored to share his life with many of our friends and family who visited us in the hospital. In the end William struggled to breathe and became tired. Every life is precious and every moment of his life was precious to us.

*****This is my family's 11th year supporting this walk as a way to remember William and many other babies.*****

WE NEED TO UNITE, CONNECT AND FIGHT FOR FAMILIES

With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.

At March for Babies you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.

Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
