Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. I'm walking in March for Babies because I want to do something about this. And I need your help to support my walk. Before I was a mom, I spent countless hours in a NICU with my Goddaughter, Addison. The staff that surrounded her were like Angels, watching over her as she grew strong enough to go home. The experience was incredible and I was amazed at the process of helping the tiniest of humans.
I then started my motherhood journey with a miscarriage before ushering 4 healthy babies into this world. I also now have 3 Heavenly nieces and nephews — Shea Elizabeth, Devin Alexander, & Stevie Jane. My sister experienced hyperemesis gravidarum, pre-eclampsia, & HELLP syndrome throughout her pregnancies resulting in premature babies that spent varying times in the NICU before going home to their Heavenly Father. Their family was blessed to adopt a son in September 2024, adding to their one living rainbow baby, and completing their family… So many stories of heartache and triumph. I've witnessed people I love dearly suffer through tremendous child loss, & I've also seen the amazing people who've surrounded them to provide comfort, love, & exceptional medical care. I've walked with March of Dimes since 2015, & I am now a Postpartum Nurse at Inova Fairfax. I've had the amazing privilege of ushering lives into this world and caring for them with incredible healthcare teams. Your stories stay with us. We lovingly SERVE YOU.
