As most of you know, I am one of the Miracles that the March of Dimes is all about. My twin brother, Ethan, and I were born at 26 weeks gestation. Can you believe that is 3.5 months early? When we were born we were very tiny and very sick. I weighed only 2 pounds 2 ounces and Ethan weighed 2 pounds. I spent a long 93 days in the NICU, away from my family, fighting to become healthy enough to come home. Today, I am a happy and healthy 11 year old boy that beat the prematurity odds. Sadly, my brother never came home and we miss him everyday. We know he lives in our hearts but it still makes us sad.
March for Babies is one way we remember and honor Ethan. I love knowing that by walking I can help other families have healthy pregnancies and hopefully no one will have to be sad about losing a baby in the future. I also like to walk to celebrate all that I have overcome since mommy says I am a miracle.
Please consider helping me reach my donation goal. No donation is too small. Thanks for honoring me and all babies with your support.
Love,
Owen
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
