Jacob was born by emergency C-section at 23 weeks and four days gestation, weighing just 1 pound 8 ounces. This wasn’t the birth outcome that most families would welcome, but we were overjoyed!
Having experienced a devastating stillbirth just one year earlier, we were grateful for every new day of Jacob’s life, bolstered by everything we learned about premature birth from having lost Lucas.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, it’s more important than ever to support the research, advocacy, and equitable health care programs made possible by March of Dimes.
This year I will participate in March for Babies and you can help me reach my fundraising goal.
$117 ~ $1 for every day Jacob spent in the NICU
$40 ~ $1 for every week of a full term pregnancy
$23 ~ $1 for every week that I was pregnant with Jacob
$10 ~ $1 for every year since Jacob was born
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
