Dear Family and Friends, Once again, this year we will support the Seattle-area March of Dimes March for Babies. We do this every year to give back to the organization that provided us vital support during the difficult 3.5 months of Andrew's hospitalization following his premature birth. We also do this to honor the babies of friends and acquaintances born early or with challenges, and also those babies who never get to go home. Andrew is now 17 and looking at colleges!!!! Together, we faced many challenges to his health, including asthma, an inability to chew and swallow normally, and alteration in his sensory processing - all of these issues directly related to his premature birth. With lots of medical care, his conditions were controlled and it's been a joy to see him grow into the strapping young man who is taller than both mom and dad, physically active and intellectually curious. We look back and are thankful for our good fortune and positive outcomes, supported by the best science and medicine available, including immunizations without which he might not be here. We hope you will consider supporting us in our efforts again this year, and supporting the scientists and doctors that work every day to fight for patients' lives, and fight against the rising tide of misinformation that comes from those that only fear and don't listen. Thank-you. Jim, Kate, Megan and Andrew ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- one day... all babies will be born healthy today... the money we raise for March for Babies will help: - support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects - educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby - provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care - push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children Please help by donating today! With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
