I walk for my former 25-weeker, Rakesh, who spent 94 days in the NICU before coming home, for my nephews Devan and Kiran who passed away from prematurity-related complications, and for all of my family and friends who have also experienced premature birth.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
