Why I march

On November 1, 2005, my niece and nephew were born just shy of 25 weeks gestation - almost 15 weeks too soon. After a hard-fought 7 week battle, we lost my nephew to prematurity. Without the March of Dimes, my family would not have had as much precious time with Dylan. We also would not have been able to watch Kayla thrive and grow into the happy, healthy teenager she is now. Because of this, I march in memory of Dylan and in celebration of Kayla, who was given a second chance at life thanks to the March of Dimes' lifesaving research and development of surfactant therapy.

This amazing organization helps communities across the country through research, education, and advocacy so more parents can experience the joy of a healthy pregnancy and baby. Every dollar truly matters and helps fund research that will keep future moms and babies safe. Please join us for the March for Babies this year and consider donating, any amount is greatly appreciated!

When it comes to giving families the best possible start, we all have the power to help.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.

March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.

Thank you for your support!
