If you know me you know that I llooooove babies! March of Dimes is close to my heart because, my grandbaby Violet was born 6 weeks early and spent a month in the NICU. Because of Health disparities in our medical system Black Women and Black babies are more likely to experience risk and complications that lead to death. March of Dimes is committed to ending preventable maternal health risks and death and ending preventable preterm birth and infant death. Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. Please read the following facts:

• Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes compared to White women.
• This rate of infant mortality (death) among Black babies is almost two times higher than the national average (5.6 per 1,000 live births). According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the rate of infant mortality (death) among Black babies in the U.S. is 10.8 per 1,000 live births.
• Preterm birth rates are 50 percent higher among Black women, than they are among White or Hispanic women.
  
  I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk.
