My daughter gave birth to my first grandchild this year so I can appreciate this blessing from God but not everyone has success stories. I have had family members and friends that have had complications with childbirth, and I have consoled with them as well as saluted success stories as a result of the support of the March of Dimes.
I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start.
I have personally met many March of Dimes families and heard their stories. These families are true heroes and need our support. I continue to show my dedication to March of Dimes by serving as a national service partner in the national capital area, serving in the Circle of Champions, and the chairperson for the Virginia Association of Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
