I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk.
Our son, Rowan, was born prematurely at 27 weeks weighing 2lbs, 2oz. and measuring 15 inches long. He was born as a spontaneous preterm birth (unknown cause) while on vacation in Flagstaff, Arizona. After 55 days in the Flagstaff Medical Center NICU, Rowan was stable enough to be transported via medical fixed wing jet to St. Louis Children's Hospital where he stayed an additional 41 days. After 96 days total, our little fighter graduated from the NICU and came home. He is now 2.5 years old and thriving!
Although Rowan’s birth went nothing as planned and was very scary at the time, we feel extremely blessed by the incredible, lifesaving medical care Rowan received at both facilities. We know that organizations such as March of Dimes help make this possible by funding research and providing support to NICU families when they need it most.
This is why our family will be participating in the March of Dimes March for Babies in St. Louis this summer. Help us raise funds so that every family gets the best possible start! Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
