This year, our family will walk in the March for Babies in memory of Cathy Frick, one of our beloved NICU nurses.  During Lillie's NICU stay, Cathy was an amazing source of strength, encouragement, love, support, and humor.  We were blessed to have her on Lillie's medical team and by our side during Lillie's journey.  Heaven has most certainly gained an angel. The March of Dimes is important to our family because research sponsored and supported by the March of Dimes led to many of the medical advances that saved Lillie's life and so many others.  Born three months early, Lillie required many medical interventions. During her 52 day stay in the NICU, we met families who suffered loss.  Premature births continue to happen and the cause is unknown in 40% of all cases. Thus, premature birth cannot be prevented and it is the #1 cause of newborn death.    On April 21st, we will walk so that every baby can be born healthy and in remembrance of Cathy.
