At 31 weeks, I woke up in the middle of the night knowing something was very wrong. About four hours later, our daughter, Gwenyth, was born. Having a premature baby brought many fears and challenges; however, during our 31 days in the NICU, we also experienced so much support and kindness. Much of that came from the March of Dimes.
We walk to honor our daughter, our miracle, who we are so blessed is healthy and happy. We walk for the 380,000 premature babies born each year in the U.S. Our country is among the worst preterm birth rate of high-resource nations, so we walk to raise funds for research for the health of all moms, babies and families. We also walk in remembrance of the babies of loved ones who we hold in our hearts. Lastly, we walk to in gratitude for the March of Dimes and all the wonderful nurses, doctors, staff and other NICU families who helped us get where we are today.
Please consider walking with Team Gwen and/or donating to our team.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
