Why I walk

Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 380,000 babies here in the United States. I’m walking in March for Babies in memory of our son JJ.  JJ was born 16 weeks too early at 24.4 weeks on December 18, 2016.  He weighed 1lb 6 ounces and was approximately 12.1 inches long. JJ fought as hard as possible but on Day 13 he needed abdominal surgery to repair what was a suspected bowel perforation. He survived a 3 hour surgery but never fully recovered and on his 15th day of life we had to make the grueling decision to let him go.  He may not physically be here but he will forever live in our hearts.

Please make a secure donation to help me reach my goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get strongest start possible.

When it comes to giving families the best possible start, we all have the power to help.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.

March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.

Thank you for your support!
