Greetings and Blessings
Each year I come to you and each you have answered my call. For the over 33 years, I have been a team leader for The March of Dimes, March for Babies.
As always, I share my story to remind everyone how important this is to me. For over 33 years my husband (Sam) and I have promoted the March of Dimes. While Sam was serving on the Marine Corps Drill Field in 1983, We lost our daughter Tinesha Bagwell. She is buried in the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC. (http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/index.html?cemetery=N831). Looking back, as a young couple in the military and far from home, we wish we could have received all the vital education and assistance the March of Dimes provides to families today.
Our hope is that because of the support, education, and research of the March of Dimes, fewer and fewer parents will suffer the pain we experienced. And so this is why we joined the MARCH OF DIMES and its fight to end infant mortality and to find a cure for premature birth and its physical challenges. The March of Dimes also gives us the opportunity to honor our daughter's memory by helping expectant mothers and their babies to live healthier.
