I thought I had a fairly normal pregnancy with my fourth baby, but early in the morning on January 8, 2024 I went into labor very quickly and unexpectedly at 24 weeks and 5 days. It was a very traumatic and fast paced birth, and I didn't get to hold or even see my baby before they had to take him to the NICU. Thaddeus Asher Hasten was 1 pound and 5 ounces and 12 inches long, and he fought so hard for 30 hours just to breathe and live. He was born at 3:04 PM, and died at 9:32 PM on January 9th. He has several health issues, most from being so premature. He is the only preemie I've ever had, and he was a micro preemie at that. I would give almost anything to have him still here, and that is why I will be participating in the Walk for Babies and wearing purple for as long as I possibly can. Thaddeus deserved life, and he deserves to be known and to live on through us. Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. I’m walking in March for Babies because I want to do something about this. And I need your help. Please support my walk.
