I walk for my daughter who was born at 26 weeks weighing 1 lb 12 oz and measuring 12 inches. She was the first premature baby in the family which made it really hard for me because I did not have anyone to turn to so they could tell me that everything was going to be okay... Our 80 days spent in the NICU were full of emotions. Somedays were better than others but everynight felt the same...I was leaving the hospital with my hands empty. I was not taking my baby home. Those would be the longest nights of my life. I did not know if she would have a good or bad night, I was not there to comfort her. Those were really tough days. But... Now our little big miracle is 11 1/2 years old and full of energy. She has met her milestones and is doing wonderful. She is doing good in school and is a big reader. She just loves to show her love.
