November 14, 2014 we welcomed our daughter Chelsea into the world, weighing 2 lbs, 11 oz, and born 10 weeks early. She was immediately rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as I recovered from pre-eclampsia.
She spent 44 days in the NICU, including her first Christmas. Countless IVs, a ventilator to help her breathe, a feeding tube to help her eat, constantly looking at her oxygen levels, and painful car rides home without her. It's a time we don't want anyone else to experience. It is why we know the March of Dime's mission is so important! Prematurity in the US is one of the highest in first world countries, and we know other babies need their help, just like Chelsea did (she received a life saving breathing treatment for her underdeveloped lungs, developed by March of Dimes).
As more of our friends become parents, we know that prematurity impacts so many! We fundraise so March of Dimes can continue researching ways to prevent premature birth, improve maternal healthcare, develop treatments, and offer support to NICU families!
If you are able, we would love for you to donate to this amazing organization. Thank you for all of your support!!! We are so excited to be participating in our 12th March for Babies!
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
