I joined the March of Dimes' movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk.

With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, and maternity care access in our state continuing to decline, it is essential to continue the work of the March of Dimes. 

March of Dimes' goal is to end preventable preterm birth and infant death, end preventable maternal health risk and death, and close the health equity gap for all families.  
Unfortunately, Alabama has lower access to maternity care due to a higher percentage of maternity desserts than seen in the rest of our country.  We also have significantly higher rates of chronic health conditions compared to the rest of our country, placing our patients at even higher risk for unfavorable outcomes.  March of Dimes hopes to change this by improving access to quality healthcare for expectant mothers throughout our state, advocate for policies that support healthy pregnancies and babies at both the state and federal level, and continue lifesaving research.  

As a practicing ObGyn in Alabama, I see firsthand the challenges women face with their pregnancies as well as the struggles families face while supporting their babies in the NICU. I want to help, and I truly believe we can make a difference through the March of Dimes movement.
