I am joining the March for Babies because I deeply believe in the mission of this incredible nonprofit organization.
My daughter, Anabella, was born on November 17, 2006, at just 25 weeks and 6 days. At birth, she weighed only 1 pound, 8 ounces and measured 12½ inches long. Thanks to the extraordinary care of NICU Director Dr. Powers, Dr. Kilkenny, and the highly skilled team at Good Samaritan Hospital, Anabella spent 87 days in the NICU before finally coming home on February 14, 2007.
Our time in the NICU was both emotional and eye-opening. We were truly blessed to have access to a Level IV NICU equipped with the expertise, technology, and resources needed to save our daughter’s life. That experience forever changed our family and is the reason this cause is so close to my heart.
Today, Anabella is 19 years old and in her second year at San José State University, majoring in Physiology with minors in Chemistry and Child Development. Inspired by her own story, she hopes to one day work in the NICU, giving back to the very environment that helped save her life.
Our journey is a reminder of how critical neonatal care, research, and family support truly are. The goal today is simple but deeply meaningful: to help NICU families facing the same uncertainty, fear, and hope that we once experienced.
By supporting March for Babies, we are helping fund life-saving research, advocacy, and resources that make stories like Anabella’s possible.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
