I was born a preemie but I never thought I would have one...or FOUR! 3/15/07 at 24wks 4days I went into the hospital with a placental abruption, pre-term labor and low platelets. Contractions were stopped and I was on bed rest at Good Sam. The Drs were waiting for me to develop other signs of pre-eclamsia/HELLP Syndrome, but Logan had his own plans in mind. On 4/10/07 at 28wks 2days he decided it was time to meet the world. He spent the next two months of his life in the NICU where he received exceptional care. My 2nd pregnancy was going very well until 4/16/09 at 32wks 6days. Once again I ended up on bed rest at Good Sam because of pre-term labor. The Drs were trying everything to stop the labor at least for a few more weeks. Lizzie decided to make her entrance on 4/18/09 at 33wks 1 day. Unlike her brother she was doing well but still had to spend a little less than 2wks in the NICU. Alexis Bass arrived 10/29/11 6lbs 5oz at 35wks 1day due to pre-term labor after weeks of trying to prevent it. Lucas Bass arrived on 11/26/13 5lbs 15oz at 35wks 4days due to pre-term labor. All four children are doing great today. Logan is in the 6th grade, plays football, and soccer. Lizzie is in 4th grade, taking dance & cheering. Lexi is in the 1st grade, takes dance, and cheers. Lucas is in pre-k, plays soccer, baseketball and looks forward to tackle football. All 4 are on the swim team for Coney Island Aquanauts and Mariemont Aquatic Club. Eric and I couldn't feel more blessed. Please support our team and consider helping us to raise money for research not only for babies born too early but to improve the health of all babies.
