It was a typical Thursday morning in December, like any other. We had just hit 22 weeks, and, as we did every week, we checked the app to see how big the baby had gotten. Little did we know that by the end of the day, we would meet our little boy. Austin Noah Litfin was born with a fighting spirit — small but mighty.
Our baby boy was with us for just two days before he was called to bigger things.
If there’s one thing we know, it’s that Austin would’ve wanted to help others. This fundraiser not only honors his memory, but also supports families going through NICU stays and helps fund research into understanding and preventing preterm labor — so that one day, fewer families have to experience this kind of loss.
Funds from the March of Dimes also go toward supporting the doctors, nurses, and staff of the NICU. During our hospital stay, the staff did everything they could to support us. What brings me comfort is knowing that Austin not only had these incredible doctors and nurses caring for him, but I could feel the love they had for him, too.
