Many people ask me why I care so much about maternal and infant health. The truth is—it’s personal.
I often think about the birth stories in my own family. My mom was a refugee when she was pregnant with my brother and me, navigating pregnancy in an unfamiliar place with a lot of uncertainty. And my grandmother gave birth during a time when resources and care were much more limited. Their experiences were very different, but both were filled with challenges, resilience, and strength.
Those stories shaped me.
Today, I have the privilege of serving as the National Director of Maternal Infant Health for the Northeast Region at March of Dimes, where I work every day to make pregnancy and birth safer for families everywhere.
What’s surprising to many people is that giving birth in the U.S. today is actually more complicated and risky than it was 30–40 years ago. That’s something we’re working hard to change.
March of Dimes supports families through programs like Mom & Baby Mobile Health Centers, NICU Family Support, research, education, and advocacy—but we can’t do it alone.
If you’re able, I’d love your support for March for Babies. Every donation—big or small—helps us support moms, babies, and families who need it most.
Thanks for being part of this with me. ❤️
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
