In 2013, our first son, Maddox, was born at 25 weeks gestation and passed away after 12 days of life. We were devastasted to say the least and it took us a long time to move past that.
In 2017, we decided to try again because the doctors couldn't find anything that would suggest I would have another preterm delivery. Well, our identical twin boys were born at 23 weeks 5 days gestation. Emmett lived for 8 days and Emory lived for 126 days. Again, with no reason as to why I went into preterm labor.
This will be our 13th year participating in memory of our boys. I still participate to help all moms and families experience the joy of a healthy baby. Minh (Alex), Emerson & I will be back out walking on April 18th at 9am.
With nearly 4 million babies born each year, we still have a lot of work to do to help them all. The funds I raise enable March of Dimes to support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy that truly makes a difference to families in our community and across the country.
If you believe, like I do, that every baby deserves the best possible start, please make a donation to support this community effort. YOU+ MEE
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
