OUR STORY

Camille and Eleanor were born at 31 weeks and 6 days after a challenging pregnancy that included surgery at 16 weeks. They are survivors of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, selective intrauterine growth restriction, and prematurity. Today, they are strong, healthy, and full of life.

We have been incredibly fortunate—fortunate to have access to excellent medical care, early interventions, and the support systems that have helped our girls overcome the many risks they faced. We know that without these resources, their story would be very different.

Our experience is what has brought us to the March for Babies. In honor of our girls, we want to give back and help ensure that more families have access to the care and support that made such a difference in our lives. We also want to be advocates—for better outcomes, better access, and better systems for all moms and babies.

Because the reality in the United States today is deeply concerning:

  • Pregnancy-related deaths in the U.S. have more than doubled over the past 25 years
  • The U.S. has one of the highest maternal mortality rates among developed countries
  • Nearly 15 million women live in maternity care deserts with limited or no access to obstetric services
  • Nearly half a million babies are born prematurely or with birth defects each year
  • Black women are more than 3x as likely to die from pregnancy-related causes as women of other races

These statistics represent families, futures, and opportunities that should never be left to chance.

Why We March

We are proud to support the March of Dimes because of their long-standing commitment to improving the health of moms and babies. Founded over 80 years ago to combat polio, the organization helped drive the research that led to its eradication in the U.S. Today, they are focused on tackling the most urgent challenges facing maternal and infant health.

The March of Dimes funds critical research, provides education and advocacy, and supports families directly—especially those navigating the uncertainty and stress of a NICU stay. Through programs like NICU Family Support, they have helped tens of thousands of families across the country. As a NICU family, we know how critical this support is for the health and wellness of moms, dads and babies.

They are also investing in research here in Ohio through the Ohio Collaborative, working to better understand the causes of premature birth and how we can prevent it.

Their vision is simple but powerful: a world in which every baby is born healthy, regardless of wealth, race, or geography.

We believe in that vision, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting this important work!

How You Can Help

If you’re able, we would be incredibly grateful for your support, whether through a donation, joining our team, or simply helping spread the word. Every contribution helps advance research, expand access to care, and support families navigating some of their most difficult moments.

On behalf of our surviving miracles, who would not be here today without the results of this work, we thank you for being part of this with us.

When it comes to giving families the best possible start, we all have the power to help.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.

March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.

Thank you for your support!
