It's that time of year again, where I MARCH FOR BABIES!!! My daughter, Madison, arrived in December 2009 at 34 weeks & weighed just over 4lbs & was taken immediately to the NICU where she spent almost 3 weeks. Today, Madison is an amazing, independent, strong minded, creative and gorgeous 16 year old who loves to music, dancing and her friends and family. My son, Dylan, arrived a little over two years later in January 2012 at 31 weeks & weighed just over 4lbs & was taken immediately to the NICU where he spent over a month. Today, Dylan is 14 years old, in 8th grade and loves to play piano, trumpet, anything musical and is never seen without his best buddy Zeus! He had a challenging first two years, but with the help of many amazing doctors, therapists and family he has grown into a fabulous and healthy little man. Together these two make a great team, and I count my blessings for how lucky we are to have such fabulous and healthy children.
Without all of the work that the March of Dimes does, the outcome of Maddie and Dylan's stories could be very different. A little boy who didn't weigh over 8lbs until he was 10 months old has definitely caught up! He weighs more than Madison now and is two years younger!
