I am a proud mother of three and grandmother of two. The health and well-being of moms and babies is something I hold close to my heart.
During my first pregnancy, I developed preeclampsia at 34 weeks and delivered at 35 weeks. My beautiful Aly was born needing surfactant and a ventilator in the NICU, where she was lovingly cared for. My second child, Megan, was my “easy” pregnancy—she arrived just a few days early and only required medication to manage my blood pressure. With my third, Kelsi, I again developed preeclampsia but received treatment and delivered safely.
Years later, my daughter Aly experienced a very difficult pregnancy of her own and delivered early. Her baby, Sofia, required care in the wonderful NICU at West Penn, and we are so very grateful for the care she received. Many have also seen Megan’s story about her postpartum experience, which is a powerful reminder that we must always advocate for ourselves and our health.
I am incredibly thankful for all of my blessings. Through the March of Dimes, we can continue to support our community and meet the needs of mothers, babies, and families everywhere.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
