Andrew and I are very proud of Margaret. She has achieved so much after being born 12 weeks early over 10 years ago. She was such a tiny 1lb 10oz Micro-Preemie. Her life force and determination kept her with us those first few months in the NICU. We are so grateful to the March of Dimes, Margaret's physicians, nurses and all of the education professionals who dedicate their skills and practice to children like and unlike Margaret. Imagine any living thing being only 1/4 normal size, particularly your child. She lived for 3 months in the NICU, enduring several setbacks and unpleasant procedures: blood transfusions, spinal taps, a staph infection and reliance on a ventilator her first week of life.

Margaret was diagnosed with Ectopia Lentis at 12 months, bilateral dislocation of the lenses in her eyes, Margaret had bilateral lens replacement surgery in January 2015 to correct the Ectopia Lentis and now enjoys 6th grade, her friends, Karate, Girl Scouts, reading, clarinet and art.

When you ask Margaret, "what do you think of the March of Dimes?" She shouts "Go March of Dimes!" We are very blessed and thankful! Margaret proudly serves as an Ambassador for the March of Dimes, living proof of the potential to save even more babies. Fun fact: March of Dimes is why President Franklin D. Roosevelt's face is on the dime.
