But many families face heartbreak and fear when their baby arrives too soon, too small or too sick.
In the United States, about 380,000 babies are born prematurely and prematurity and birth defects are leading causes of infant mortality. This is a time when the March of Dimes gets the country’s attention to fight the problem of premature birth, the #1 killer of babies.
We are part of an international effort to defeat premature birth. With your support and donation we can help give every baby a fighting chance.We participate to help all moms and families experience the joy of a healthy baby. With nearly 4 million babies born each year, we have a lot of work to do to help them all. The funds we raise enable March of Dimes to support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy that truly makes a difference to families in our community and across the country.
