I will be walking with coworkers and parents with their babies/children that I cared for while in our NICU and Family Care Suites. I walk to honor the countless families who allowed me in to their lives over the last 35+ years to care for their most beloved treasure during one of the most vulnerable, scary, and what should have been joyous times of their lives. Some of these families' stories have happy endings, others do not. I learned so much about how incredibly strong a parent's love is for their child and how they will fight for their baby to give them the best possible chance at life.
