because of where we started and where we are today. Ella's a healthy sophomore in high school. She continues to be an artist who recently received her DELE Diploma from Spain. In addition, she continues with volleyball and AFJROTC.

March of Dimes – National Prematurity Awareness Month – November 2017
Ella was born via emergency c-section at 27 weeks 5 days at just 2 lbs 2 oz. Over the next nine weeks, Ella struggled to live outside the womb in the NICU @InovaAlexandriaHospital. She was hooked up to a breathing machine, feeding tube, IV, and monitors for vitals. She was monitored closely, but you are never sure what the next day will bring. She had many good and bad days learning to breathe on her own. It was a blessing when she was finally able to just use the nasal cannula. She faced additional struggles during the transition from a feeding tube to learning how to suck on a bottle. But eventually she got the hang of it, and after 67 days Ella got to go home. #PrematurityAwarenessMonth #marchofdimes #nicu #EllanEdna
