Thank you for considering sponsoring me on this vital fundraising activity! As one of the public service activities that I'm involved with, I've participated in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica event every year since 1984. As an added challenge, I've been carrying one or two children on my back for most of those years. It started when my son was a baby, and I carried him in an infant carrier on my back. When my daughter came along, I carried her on the front and him on the back. As they grew, I had to adapt my carrying methods, and eventually constructed a carrier using the frame of a backpack, with one on the top facing forward, and the other on the back facing to the rear. Over the years, my own children outgrew the contraption. The big news this year is that my daughter will be joining me as she has for every year of her life (it's her 40th straight year participating!). She also has 2 children, now 5 and 3 years old, full term and normal weight! We're very grateful for that. 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives. Thank you so much for your support! -Mike St.Amour Sr.
