Our lives will never be the same. On November 1, 2014, we became new parents after giving birth to our son prematurely at 30 weeks. Our precious boy was a blessing, a perfect blend of his mommy and daddy, and our pride & joy. Although Camden was perfect, we experienced rare labor complications that challenged his life. After showering him with love for 25 hours, we said goodbye to him and he became the most handsome angel in Heaven. Camden was only here for a short time, but he has taught us so much about life and love. Along with family and friends, Camden will be forever loved and in our hearts.
In honor of our son and to help other babies and parents, Alex and Lauren Humes founded Camden's Comfort Project - a 501(c)3 non-profit charity whose mission is to spread comfort by donating homemade baby blankets to sick and premie babies in the hospital. We believe in making a BIG difference in the lives of the little. For the 10th year, our Camden's Comfort Team (Team Name: Camden Strong) is coming together to support another charity that touches the lives of the little. We will be walking in the March for Babies event, which benefits the March of Dimes. Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small, and often very sick. Thankfully, our condition was rare, but every premature baby's story is different; walking in this event will support the March of Dimes' diverse research efforts, gaining knowledge to prevent complications at birth and hopefully reducing the number of infants lost too soon.
