One in 10 babies is born too soon. In our family, that number is 4 out of 6.
I was nearly six months pregnant when I suffered unexplained preterm labor, and my twins- daughter & son, Ava and Cole- were born too early to survive. We were devastated.
My nephew Emmanuel was also born 3 months early, and spent months in the NICU clinging to life. But thanks in part to the lifesaving advances made through the March of Dimes' research, he is now a healthy, thriving 10-year old.
My most recent pregnancy was nearly cut short when I again experienced preterm labor at 32 weeks, but doctors were able to stop it after 4 days.
Please support my walk for the March of Dimes, in hopes that their work will help ensure no other mom ever has to suffer the terrible pain of a baby born too soon.
