Just over 11 years ago, our twins were born more than three months early, our daughter weighing 15 ounces, her brother 22 ounces.
Our tiny girl Jaina died after two days of kidney disease and infection. Cade spent four bumpy months in the NICU before coming home -- something that wouldn't have happened without March of Dimes-funded research that developed surfactant therapy.
He's now a healthy, smart, silly 11-year-old who likes acting in plays, making videos, drawing, reading and playing.
We walk for the March of Dimes to honor those whose fundraising and research saved our son, and we walk with hope that we'll help fund a cure for what took our daughter. We hope others will benefit from our experience and fundraising and not have to go through what we have.

With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
