Why I walk

Despite not finding out that we were pregnant with out third child until 13 weeks everything was going well. Out of nowhere at 33 weeks and 5 days I went into labor and my water broke. Our baby girl was born at 34 weeks. We were very fortunate that she only stayed in the NICU for 10 days. She came home on a heart monitor for about 6 months. She will be two years old in only 5 short days. Our little Meredith isn't the only reason that we walk.

In August 2016 I found out that I was pregnant with baby #4. Shortly after that I miscarried at only 5 weeks along. We still don't know why we lost that baby. With everything in my being I felt that baby was a girl. We named her Eleanor.

Just a short 10 weeks later on October 18th 2016 I found out that we were pregnant once again. Our 5th pregnancy was going well. Baby #5 and I were doing great. At 3am on December 31st 2016 I went into labor. Our son Samuel was born into heaven at just 16 weeks gestation.

From early miscarriage, late miscarriage to preterm birth; I walk for all babies born too soon.

WE NEED TO UNITE, CONNECT AND FIGHT FOR FAMILIES

With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.

At March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.

Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
