I walk for Ronan. Ronan was born ONLY 3.5 weeks before his due date (and a strapping 6lb 10oz), but that was enough prematurity to cause him to develop significant respiratory difficulties. Ronan developed Respiratory Distress Syndrome and a small pneumothorax, and he needed CPAP and oxygen for many days. Fortunately, we were able to bring him home when he was 8 days old, though we now daily experience the asthma he has gone on to develop. The medical and nursing care he received in the NICU made this difficult and stressful period as smooth as possible for us.
I also walk for Noam, who developed very transient respiratory difficulties at birth. He spent his 48hours in the hospital after being born int he NICU and was luckily able to come home at the same time as Avi. Even though his complications were very short-lived, we benefitted immensely from the skill and support of the NICU team.
Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 450,000 babies here in the United States. I’m walking in March for Babies to get the message out about this terrible problem and you can help. Please make a secure donation to help me reach my goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
