Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 450,000 babies here in the United States. I’m walking in March for Babies to get the message out about this terrible problem and you can help, any donation you can make to this cause, no matter how small can make a big difference. The preterm delivery rate in the United States is 10.4%. Additionally, the infant mortality rate is 5.4% - with higher rates in the South and Midwest regions. And alarmingly, the maternal mortality rate has nearly doubled since 2018 - with a rate of 32.9%. I walk, so we can make a different and change lives.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
